October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we have some excellent events planned!
Pets are often victims of domestic violence, too. On October 5th, we are having the Purple Paw Project at Wilck's Lake Island in Farmville from 9-1. Bring your two-legged and four-legged family members out to have some fun and support a good cause! Come enjoy games, food trucks, and animal demonstrations. There will also be dogs on site that you can adopt and take home with you! Suggested donation for entrance fee. This event also celebrates the fact that we recently received a Red Rover grant that allows us to house pets in our shelter. Learn more here: https://redrover.org/
We are also hosting a Masquerade Ball on October 26th at the Farmville Municipal Golf Course from 6-11. This event "unmasks" sexual and domestic violence as well as celebrates our 20th anniversary! Tickets include a meal and 2 complementary drinks from the wine bar. The dress is black tie with the addition of a masquerade mask; be as creative as you like!
All proceeds from these events go to support SCVP and the survivors we serve. Learn more and buy tickets to the Ball on our Events page.
